Kardashian Kulture: Why It’s Time For It To Stop.

October 5, 2016 0 By Bethanie

If you are a normal human being with access to some kind of news outlet then the next sentence will come as no great surprise to you. Kim Kardashian was robbed this week, at gunpoint no less and oh my, the world has gone into frenzy, because how dare someone threaten an institution such as the Kardashians?

Various stories have emerged on the means of robbery, some tell of a gunpoint heist that left poor Kim Zip-tied in a bath tub whilst five men robbed $10 million worth of jewellery, others tell of an inside job, where Kim’s body guard tipped the thieves off, where others merely state that Kim was left locked in a bathroom whilst thieves stole her jewellery. Now, lets be honest, The only person who knows what really happened is Kim herself. No, I’m not accusing Kim of fabricating a story, I’m saying that this will be another game of media Chinese whispers and nobody will know the full truth until it appears in the next series of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, because that’s something that everyone wants to do, right?

If this atrocity had happened to a normal person, it would never have gained this kind of media coverage, actually, it probably wouldn’t have gained any media coverage at all, because if you aren’t a Kardashian, who cares? We live in a society where we would much rather keep up with the Kardashians, that look at the real world and see all of the terrible things happening around us! Yes of course, it’s terrible that Kim Kardashian was robbed but will she survive this? Of course, and she doesn’t need the attention of the worlds media to do so. Millions of people go through a lot worse thank Kim K has on a daily basis, people struggle, but do you see them commanding the attention of the worlds media? No, because if they even tried, they would be laughed straight out of the door.

So far in 2016, there have been 1347 terrorist attacks, In the first five days of October alone there have been 10 attacks, that works out at more than one terrorist attack, killing thousands and injuring thousands more, every single day. Yet as a society, we would rather pay attention to what is happening to ‘Celebrities’. It’s wrong and it needs to stop, as a society, we need to bring an end to Kardashian culture, a world where people care more about a celebrities stolen jewellery, than they do about people being senselessly killed in terror attacks.

We need to start looking at the bigger picture and caring about the things that really matter, because sadly, the world is a really horrible place right now, and Kim Kardashian being robbed, isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.

As always thank you for reading,

Until next time.
