Okay here’s the tea. I’ve been gone for SO long I know and I’m sorry about that. It’s been a year and I’ll be honest a LOT has happened in the past year which I’ll be honest is partly the reason why I went MIA on the internet as a whole, popping in and out when I’ve had the time or felt as though I had something to say.
However 2020 is a new year, the start of a new decade and after some serious consideration, I’ve decided that it’s about time that my blog and I rekindled our relationship because truth be told, I’ve missed it.
So, where have I been? Not that anybody really wants to know, however this is my little corner of the internet so I’m going to tell you anyway. So buckle up my lovelies because I’m about to take you on the journey of my life for the past year!
Firstly – I Graduated! After 4 years of hard work my time as an undergraduate came to an end. The last year of my degree was the most challenging of them all, which really took away a lot of the time that I would have used for blogging.
Just before graduation, I took the leap and moved house. Living independently for the first time (lets face it, if we’re being 100% honest, university doesn’t really count as independent living) took a lot of getting used to, learning to keep myself alive and remembering to do the washing has really been a task in itself.
I adopted two of the most adorable kittens known to this earth. They silently judge me every day, but I take my responsibilities as a mother seriously, even if they do litter my house with worms and other ‘presents’, They’ve not quite followed the No furries, featherys or slimeys rule that I set out, but I’m still holding out hope!
I decided that my brood needed a new addition, so along came El Dave-o, my chocolate Syrian hamster. He judges me a lot less than the cats, so long as he gets his broccoli and carrots on time!
I took time to get my mental health in check. Over the past year I have been diagnosed with Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder, two diagnoses that, although they explained a lot of questions that I had about myself, took a some getting used to and learning to live with. There have been quite a few rough moments, that I’m sure that I’ll take time to discuss in a more mental health related blog, but hopefully for now I have them well managed and things are slowly getting back to ‘normal’ (Whatever normal means, I’m still yet to figure it out!)
Finally, to round it all off, I decided that I wasn’t quite done being a student yet, so enrolled on a masters degree and Legal Practice Course to finally qualify as a solicitor in 2021. It’s been a steep learning curve (think undergraduate but the world is on fire and everything has to be done yesterday).
After all of that, I decided to take some much needed relaxation time to think about what my next steps were and whether in all honesty I wanted to come back to my blog at all or whether it was time to hang up my keyboard for good. Thankfully I came to my senses and decided that it wasn’t time for me to give up on the internet just yet.
I’m currently working out a regular & manageable blogging and content schedule that will fit around university and life in general, which will most likely see new blog posts being uploaded over the weekend.
I promise you 2020 will be the year of content!
As always thank you for reading and sticking with me even when I’m not here.
So, until next time!
